Busting 3 Myths About Wholesale Electronic Cigarettes

By Billy Genthner

While vaping continues to become more and more popular, luring millions of Americans away from traditional tobacco-based cigarettes, there are still plenty of naysayers out there. While it's always wise to learn about wholesale electronic cigarettes before you start vaping, there are many myths about vaping that need to be set straight, including the following:

1. The Great Unknown: The Ingredients Of E-Liquids

For many people who switch from tobacco to wholesale electronic cigarettes, sampling E-liquids is one of the most exciting aspects. There are hundreds of cool flavors, ranging from smoky to sweet. There are coffee-flavored wholesale E-liquids and candy-flavored E-liquids and even cocktail-inspired E-liquids. One of the biggest myths about E-cigarettes is that the ingredients of these E-liquids are completely mysterious and unknown and perhaps unsafe.

There is no great mystery regarding wholesale E-liquid ingredients. Generally, you will find four different components, one of which is nicotine. Nicotine is addictive and is what gets you hooked on tobacco; however, when it comes to E-liquids you can gradually reduce the amount of nicotine until your E-liquids contain none at all. Aside from nicotine, there are either artificial or natural flavors, just as we might have in any food product. Propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin are the two remaining ingredients, and both of these have been approved as safe by the FDA. Tobacco cigarettes, on the other hand, contain hundreds of toxins including about 70 items that are listed as carcinogens.

2. Vapor & Cigarette Smoke Are Highly Dangerous

As stated before, we know that traditional cigarettes contain 7,000-plus toxins and many of these are released once you light up. Second-hand smoke has been shown to cause cancer as well as exacerbating conditions such as allergies and asthma. Studies regarding wholesale electronic cigarettes have shown that vaping releases about half a dozen toxins, but in amounts so small that they pose little to no risk to the community at large. Testing and studies continue, but evidence points to the fact that the general public has little to fear from the vapor released by electronic cigarettes.

Of course, it's not just the toxic second-hand smoke that is a danger for tobacco. Traditional cigarettes are lit on fire and can cause fires. In fact, more than 90,000 fires were caused by smoking in 2011, according to the National Fire Protection Association. These fires resulted in more than 500 fatalities. With your wholesale E-cigarette, you don't actually light anything on fire; it is powered by a small battery. According to FEMA, from 2009 through 2014, there were 25 fire-related incidents related to wholesale E-cigarettes. The majority of these incidents were caused when people were charging the E-cig battery incorrectly and none of these incidents resulted in a large-scale fire or any deaths.

3. Vaping Companies Deliberately Entice Those Under 18

The vaping industry has been accused of deliberately steering their advertising toward teens and children. After all, they have all these colorful packages and candy flavors which all children love. Of course, adults also enjoy candy and other fun flavors as well as attractive packaging. It is true that the number of kids or teens using wholesale E-cigs is on the rise, but it's also on the rise for adults and in far greater numbers. In general, electronic cigarette use is up, which means there would be a logical increase in usage by teens as well as adults.

The good news is that it is more difficult for people younger than 18 to acquire wholesale electronic cigarettes than regular cigarettes. Most vapers only have one or two vaping kits, whereas tobacco smokers might have several packs of cigarettes in the house, making it easy to sneak a few without being noticed. When you begin vaping, you have to purchase a start-up kit and this upfront cost can be more than many teens can afford. In addition, you have to buy from an online vape store which requires a credit card or a specialty shop that caters to vapers. It's just not that easy to buy wholesale E-cigs and wholesale E-liquids if you are 18 or younger.
